Sopwell House: Corner Suites

Following on from the design of the Reception and Octagon Bar/ Lounge, Sparcstudio were enlisted to design the Corner Suites. The newly launched Corner Suites are the most opulent rooms available at Sopwell House.  As you enter the suites, you will notice the luxurious fabric-wrapped panels lining the hallway to the room. Each space is adorned with an elegant dressing table which is perfect for a bride to get ready in style.

Each room has a luxurious fabric panelled dressing area with four poster bed looking across a beautiful lounge space overlooking the little terrace. Almost every element of the Honeyroom is bespoke, from the hand-bashed antique bronze table legs to the freestanding Cocktail cabinet which is complete with an antique mirror back, a mini fridge and a pull-out cutting drawer (ready to make the perfect gin and tonic using Sopwell’s unique brand of gin). Have a seat in the custom designed mohair swivel armchair for a taste of comfort and style.

The suites are subtly linked to nature, which grounds them in the hotel’s unique sense of place. The glass tabletop gives the effect of rainwater, while detailed embroidered leaf motifs are set into the illuminated headboard of the Honeymoon four-poster bed. The bed sits square to the double doors looking out upon the blue sky, the treetops, and a personal balcony. Each balcony features a cosy outdoor banquette; perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine on a sunny evening.

The panelled powder blue walls are adorned with unique artwork. The playful framing and mixture of classical and contemporary pieces make for an eclectic display. A painted heron at the entrance of the room forms a subtle link to the rest of the Hotel – the Heron being the motif of the spa.

In the Zip and Link suites, a feature headboard creates an impressive entrance with its tri-coloured leather design and swooping organic form. The third bed is discreetly disguised as a stylish chaise, meaning the room feels just as spacious with or without an additional person.

The bathrooms are as much of a statement as the bedrooms, with beautiful stone-lined feature walls and antique brass details. Alabaster Heathfield wall lights flank the bathroom mirror giving an attractive warm glow. The shower door glass in the Honeymoon Suites contains encapsulated brass mesh, adding another layer of luxury to the shower experience. In the Zip and Link suite bathroom, a beautiful marble mosaic is set into the centre of the floor, and both suites feature a luxurious freestanding bathtub waiting to be drawn.

We want our guests to feel like they’re staying at a cosy home, not just another stuffy hotel. We’re all about creating a personal and friendly atmosphere, where our guests feel like they’re part of the family. We’re not just selling a hotel room; we’re selling a feeling.
