Harrods Hair & Beauty Salon, Knightsbridge

The launch of the Hair and Beauty Salon marks the final phase of Harrods Knightsbridge beauty business transformation, led by Director of Beauty Annalise Fard, to become one of the world’s largest beauty destinations. London based Sparcstudio Design was appointed as the designers of the new game changing 16,985 sq. ft. Hair and Beauty Salon space, offering customers a rarefied beauty and wellness experience.

Sparcstudio has created a contemporary new Salon which feels like an exclusive members club, welcoming, comfortable and incredibly luxurious. The newly designed space hosts a spacious Hairdressing Salon with central ‘Rotunda’ curved waiting area, a hair extension library, luxury ‘Backwash’ area with a ‘Conditioning Bar’, and a more private ‘Salon Privee’ with five hair-stations and its own backwash area.

The extensive treatment zone has 12 room treatment rooms with its own waiting lounge, plus an ‘Eye Zone’ suite for Brow & Lash services. All zones are supported by a large reception/check in zone, cloak room and customer washrooms.

The Customer Journey: Space-Planning with an Organic Flow

A key element of the schemes success is the flow of the overall space-planning. Sparcstudio created an organic flowing feel to the circulation designed to enable customers passing through to have glimpses into the various zones whilst retaining privacy for treatment spaces. Deco style ‘portals’ herald the entrances with a sweeping walkway, leading through to the curved check in and reception zone.

Customers also pass through extensive Retail zones en-route to the Hair Salon and Treatment Suite, comprising of a curated selection of 43 “powerhouse beauty brands” featuring several Harrods exclusives. Sparcstudio designed a coordinated suite of illuminated bespoke gondolas, point of sale podium and promotional tables.  The surrounding walls are lined with bookcase style shelving bays with up-lit curved sofits, and reeded glass customisable branding panels, interspersed with timber lined bookcases displaying curated art collection designed to create a homely club like feel.
