Sparcstudio played a key role in the transformation of Sopwell House’s former lounge area into the beautiful Octagon Bar. As guests step through the impressive entrance, they are greeted by opulent lighting, dark timber herringbone flooring, copper-coloured ironmongery and sage green walls. The Octagon Bar exudes glamour – featuring an ornate marble-topped bar with vintage, mirrored glass detailing complemented by leather bar stools and luxurious velvet armchairs. The ambiance is further enhanced by sculptural wall lights and individual table lights, creating an intimate and romantic setting. Adjacent to the bar, beautiful views that stretch across the hotel’s lawns are framed by French doors.
Connected to the Octagon Bar is the bright and airy Lounge. Whilst the Lounge and Octagon Bar have differing atmospheres, the scheme has a sense of unity through the repetition of geometric patterned fabric and green tones. Striking chandeliers draw the eye upwards, highlighting the intricate cornice and high ceilings. The maximalist botanical pink and green wallpaper mirror views of the hotel’s lawn through the beautiful stained glass windows. Contemporary elements, like the bespoke pale teal swivel chairs, breathe new life into the area. The combination of pink and orange hues with teal accents results in a rich palette with lots of depth and layering. The outdated curtains have been replaced with reinstated shutters which are lined with mirrors to reflect more light into the room.
